Useful Information for Professional Wallers
Wallers working in a professional capacity should ensure that they have the necessary public and employers liability insurance cover appropriate for the level of work being undertaken. It is the responsibility of the individual to ensure that this is kept up to date and amended as and when required.
It is also important that you are familiar with the up to date legislation regarding some working situations such as road side working and manual lifting. Full details of health and safety requirements can be found on the Health and Safety Executive website, www.hse.gov.uk
For people considering starting up their own business, a useful contact is Business Link, or Business Gateway if you are in Scotland, which offer information on a wide range of issues relevant small businesses and self-employment. Details can be found on the website, www.businesslink.gov.uk or contact 0845 600 9006. Contact Business Gateway on www.bgateway.com or telephone 0845 609 6611.
